I recently was asked to relocate for my job. Many locations were discussed and I couldn’t be more thrilled when Atlanta was decided upon. I was born and raised in a small town and while I went away for college, I hadn’t really experienced city life. I was so excited to move from such a small town to the big city of Atlanta. I am a sports enthusiast and was more than a little excited to be in a town with some of my favorite teams.  I was no longer going to have to watch the big game on the big screen; I was going to be in the bleachers. I was elated at all the possibilities that were offered, that I didn’t even think of the downsides of living in such a big place. It hadn’t even been a month since we had moved in, that my home was burglarized. Luckily, the family was out to dinner together, but what a shock when we came home.  The front door had been kicked in and a truck backed up to it. They unloaded my home like movers.  They moved so fast, we were only gone a few hours. I was completely devastated. Coming from a small town, and moving into a nice neighborhood gave me a false sense of security. I assumed the neighbors here were like the kind of neighbors I had back home; always looking out for you and your belongings. I was so naïve, so naive and stupid. I am ashamed to say that I hadn’t even checked into the LifeShield Atlanta Home Security offered.  I will never make that mistake again.
